Since its establishment in 1883, West Monroe has prided itself as being a safe, fiscally responsible City with a small town atmosphere and big city amenities. Throughout the community, you’ll still find neighbors visiting after Sunday services and picnicking in the park. You’ll also find Louisiana’s first nationally accredited police force, major food and retail chains, and innovative programs to preserve both our environment and culture. West Monroe-it’s the place you’ve been hoping to find.

The public is advised that beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, the La. Dept. of Transportation and Development will close the Endom Bridge to all roadway and pedestrian traffic. The bridge is expected to be closed through 5 p.m. on September 20. This closure is needed for mechanical maintenance on the bridge. DOTD reminds the public to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Endom Bridge to be closed Sept. 18-20

The bridge is expected to be closed through 5 p.m. on September 20. This closure is needed for mechanical maintenance on the bridge. West Monroe Recycling Center now open

West Monroe Recycling Center now open

The West Monroe Recycling Center is open to the public.

The facility is located at 409 Lincoln Street, located directly behind the West Monroe Police Department. The facilty will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and select Saturdays, which will be announced at a later date.

Anyone is welcome to drop off recyclable materials at the facility, even if they live outside the City of West Monroe limits. Accepted recycable materials including paper, cardboard, aluminum, steel cans and Plastic #1 (bottles) and Plastic #2 (milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, etc.).

The City of West Monroe asks the public to sort their recyclables before dropping them off at the facility. Staff members will be on site during designated drop off times to assist the public.

Fall Brown Bag Concert Series

Fall Brown Bag Concert Series

Wednesday, September 26, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

The Fall Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series will take place every Wednesday in September from noon to 1 p.m. at The Pavilion at 7th Square in West Monroe.

The concert series is free to the general public. Seating will be provided as well as light refreshments. Brown Bag lunches will be sold on site for $5 each.
