West Ouachita Public Transit (WOPT) Rider's Guide:
The West Ouachita Senior Center/Public Transportation System began operating in 1983. WOPT provides safe, courteous, clean, reliable, and cost-effective transportation service for residents living in western Ouachita Parish. For over 30 years, WOPT has successfully fulfilled its mission in serving transit needs, which is to provide transit riders access to goods, services, employment, and other vital destinations necessary for independent living.
All passengers must purchase a ticket to ride the transit bus. All fares are based on one-way curb-to-curb trips within set boundaries in Ouachita Parish. Fares are given to the transit driver prior to vehicle departure. Transit passengers may purchase tickets from the driver or from the WOPT information counter. Call 324-1280, 24-hours in advance, to schedule your transportation request or for fare information.
For rural transit subscription-deviated routes, schedules, fares, or charter service information, contact the West Ouachita Senior Center/Public Transit office at 324-1280.
