Welcome to the City of West Monroe’s official website.  We have made a special effort to make this site easy to use, informative and comprehensive.  Whether you are a resident or a visitor to the community, it is important to us that you feel at home.

Since its establishment in 1883, West Monroe has prided itself as being a safe, fiscally responsible City with a small town atmosphere and big city amenities. Throughout the community, you’ll still find neighbors visiting after Sunday services and picnicking in the park. You’ll also find Louisiana’s first nationally accredited police force, major food and retail chains, and innovative programs to preserve both our environment and culture. West Monroe-it’s the place you’ve been hoping to find.

Members in West Monroe provide afterschool and summer enrichment, helping students reach their full potential. They also provide other service to the community via neighborhood clean ups, disaster related services, community outreach and much more.

AmeriCorps is about finding a way for every individual to #GetThingsDone through service. Members develop a deeper connection with their community and the families served, while earning an education award for college. Members are also eligible to earn a living stipend while they serve.

Those 18 years old and up are encouraged to make a difference in their community. Applications for the summer team are available on the AmeriCorps page on the City of West Monroe website. For information, call Denise Calhoun at (318) 396-2600.

Keep West Monroe Beautiful Poster Contest

The City of West Monroe and Keep West Monroe Beautiful invite elementary students in grades K-5 to enter the 2019 Keep West Monroe Beautiful Poster Contest.

This year's poster contest theme is "Keep West Monroe Cleaner and Greener!"

Entries should be submitted to the Mayor's Office by Friday, March 22.
