Utility Broadband: Opportunities, Legislative Update, and Success Stories

The inequality of broadband offerings and presence of broadband deserts across both rural and urban households has never been more apparent as more employees are working from home and students are learning remotely. Areas across the country face insufficient infrastructure, inconsistent or unreliable internet speeds, and in some cases, a lack of affordable options.

The American Jobs Plan infrastructure bill is expected to enable faster and easier broadband deployments to reach all Americans regardless of whether they live. 

This panel will provide an overview of legislative and policy changes that will impact electric utility broadband opportunities. Also, you’ll hear experiences and insights from utilities that have deployed broadband on their own or as partnerships, both in the middle mile and fiber-to-the-home offerings.
