West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that it has been named to The National Association for Business Resources’ Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® list for 2016. The annual ranking honors companies and organizations that recognize and celebrate quality and excellence in employee and worksite health. West Monroe Partners appears on the list for the third consecutive year.
“It is very challenging to maintain a healthy diet and exercise with the consulting lifestyle, which includes non-standard hours and travel,” said Munzoor Shaikh, director in the firm’s Healthcare practice whose primary focus is on healthcare mergers and acquisitions, hospital systems, managed care, population health, and wellness. “From our early days, we have strived to find ways to help our people lead healthy, balanced lives. It is a privilege to represent our profession on this list of leaders in promoting wellness in the workplace, and we are particularly proud that it is the grassroots efforts of our people that have positioned our firm for such recognition.”
West Monroe Partners’ Wellness Committee, with 20 members across all firm offices, creates and oversees initiatives that help employees thrive in the intensive consulting lifestyle. For example, recent committee initiatives have included a virtual marathon (step competition), group yoga class followed by juice “happy hour” in the office, and a guest speaker to teach employees how to maximize return on investment in wellness efforts. The Wellness Committee is a product of West Monroe’s “Chiefs” program, which encourages employees to volunteer to create and run a committee around an area of interest.
“Each year we create a roadmap that aims to educate, engage, and empower our people in wellness-related activities,” said Tory Loebig, a Chicago-based consultant who chairs the Wellness Committee. “From initial small changes such asking employees to visibly schedule walking meetings on their calendars to competitive fitness challenges among hundreds of employees, we see interest in creating healthy workplaces and communities continuing to grow.”
Founded in 2002 in Chicago, West Monroe Partners has grown to 11 offices across the United States and more than 800 consultants. It has received numerous national and regional accolades for its workplace and human resource practices.
The Best and Brightest in Wellness®, a program of the National Association for Business Resources, is presented annually. The 2016 list of companies recognized as Best and Brightest in Wellness® includes 14 wellness providers and 62 employers.
The 2016 winning companies were evaluated by an assessment, created and administered by SynBella, the nation’s leading wellness firm. The evaluation process statistically examined entries’ quantitative data on a criteria-based point system to benchmark and improve wellness program effectiveness. These criteria include outcomes, analysis and tracking, participation and incentives, benefits and programs, leadership, employee input, culture, and environment.
