Two West Monroe consultants named Consulting Magazine's 2018 "Rising Stars of the Profession"

CHICAGO – West Monroe Partners, a national business and technology consultancy, today announced that two consultants – Kevin Hulsebosch, a manager in Chicago, and Jordan Sternlieb, a director in Los Angeles – have been named 2018 Rising Stars of the Profession by Consulting® magazine, an annual recognition program that spotlights emerging industry leaders under the age of 35. Both Hulsebosch and Sternlieb are recognized for excellence in financial services.

“In 2016, we updated our mission statement to better reflect our people-first culture by focusing on building the next generation of leaders for our firm, our profession, and our communities,” said Kevin McCarty, West Monroe’s CEO and president. “Kevin Hulsebosch and Jordan Sternlieb exemplify the consulting and the uncommon blend of business and technology acumen we envision in our next generation of leaders. More importantly, they already have demonstrated a strong sense of our stewardship value and responsibility for investing in and mentoring the consultants who are growing in their own careers.”

Hulsebosch, a member of the Customer Experience practice, specializes in leading implementation of nCino’s treasury management solution on the Salesforce platform. He blends deep Salesforce technical knowledge with a broad business and financial background to deliver solutions that enhance customer experience while improving internal processes. He joined West Monroe Partners in 2013 after graduating with a degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the youngest recipient of West Monroe’s Sequoia award for mentorship and leadership.

“Receiving a Rising Stars Award says more about my team than it does about me, and I’m extremely grateful. I’ve been lucky to have been surrounded with talented and sociable people who work hard, have fun, and make me look good. No one succeeds in this world alone, least of all me,” said Hulsebosch. “I enjoy the continuous challenge of solving problems that a consulting career offers. No two days are the same, which keeps my job fresh, exciting, and rewarding.”

Sternlieb, a member of the Financial Services practice, works with many of West Monroe’s top banking clients to differentiate their customer experience, navigate complex merger integration, increase operational efficiency and effectiveness, and utilize new technology to meet business goals. In addition to serving as a leader within the practice, he co-founded West Monroe’s Los Angeles office in 2014 and has played a key role guiding the office’s growth to nearly 50 employees and a the number one spot on Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work in Los Angeles” list for the past two years.

“There are a number of factors that have played a role in my success, but I think the biggest, by far, is being around and working with great people, both at West Monroe and at our clients. Having great teammates and great support at all levels of the organization motivates me to come to the office every day and produce my best work,” said Sternlieb. “In our business – and particularly given the type of work we do at West Monroe – success is truly a team effort. That said, receiving this recognition motivates me to look ahead at what is possible in the future and what I can do to become a better leader, not just for West Monroe but also for the profession.”

This is the fourth year that Consulting® magazine has recognized up-and-coming leaders of the profession. The publication will honor all the Rising Stars Award recipients at a gala dinner in Chicago on April 19, 2018.
