CHICAGO – West Monroe Partners, a national business and technology consultancy, today announced that Maureen Jesuthasan, a senior manager in the firm’s Energy & Utilities practice in Chicago, has been named a 2019 Top Business Relationship Management professional by the Business Relationship Management (BRM) Institute.
In 2018, West Monroe Partners became a Registered BRM Provider, joining a group of organizations with credentials for training and coaching in BRM principles.
Jesuthasan has nearly 25 years of experience as a leader and consultant in IT operations management. She works with utility executives to define key elements of the migration to intelligent grid solutions. Her skillset includes business relationship management, ITSM strategic planning and execution, IT operations management, cost optimization, IT governance planning, and business continuity management.
BRM aspires to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand across business functions (e.g. IT, human resources, finance, legal, etc.) while ensuring that business value from meeting business demand is captured, optimized, and recognized. The Business Relationship Manager serves as a strategic partner who connects, orchestrates and navigates between one or more business units to ensure that strategic outcomes are maximized.
“Utility grid modernization requires extensive collaboration across parts of the organization that historically have not worked together, as well as with regulators and an array of new vendors and partners. The ability to bring these parties together to solve complex challenges and drive business value with technology is essential to successful transformation,” said Dan Belmont, senior director, Energy & Utilities practice. “Maureen’s combination of IT expertise and BRM acumen have helped mature the relationship quality and, thus, the results produced by the teams with which she works. She also has been an active BRM advocate and coach for her peers at West Monroe and instrumental in developing this important competency within our firm and client service teams.”
Jesuthasan joined West Monroe in 2017 from Virtustream, a large enterprise-class cloud software and service provider for which she was a digital transformation process architect.
At the 2018 BRM Connect annual conference, the BRM Institute recognized her as the first member to receive a Certificate Experience after she provided credible evidence of the business impact from applying BRM techniques. She is actively working towards achieving Master of BRM status.
“I have seen first-hand the value that business relationship management capabilities bring to cross-functional teams by breaking down organizational silos and fostering a sense of shared ownership that helps companies drive toward their goals,” Jesuthasan said. “This has long been a particular passion of mine that I enjoy integrating into my work with clients and West Monroe colleagues.”
Incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in February 2013, BRM Institute is an official certification organization dedicated to building and maintaining BRM professional standards and serving the single global BRM community.
