The companies were evaluated and scored on more than 25 parameters based on the following 4 categories:
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions
- Water Usage
- Waste Generation
- Sustainability Data Disclosure and Commitments
“We are honored to be recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Greenest Companies for 2025. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability,” said Lauren Duer, corporate social responsibility senior manager at West Monroe.
West Monroe’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement has remained steadfast. Our cross-functional, employee-powered Sustainability Team made significant strides in addressing our environmental footprint, notably developing a comprehensive roadmap to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 as part of The Climate Pledge. The firm also achieved an approximate 29% reduction in total emissions by refining our methodologies for calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
We also support clients on their own sustainability journeys. In 2023, West Monroe partnered with VSP Optics to enhance their sustainability strategy by developing a roadmap that outlines the necessary steps to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Our multidisciplinary team helped establish science-based targets, implement rooftop solar technology, and reduce landfill waste, enabling VSP Optics to cut their emissions by half by 2030 while also improving cost efficiency and revenue growth.
