West Monroe’s Sam Dawes Named One of Consulting Magazine’s 2016 “Rising Stars of the Profession”

West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that Sam Dawes, manager in the firm’s Operations Excellence practice has been named one of 35 “Rising Stars of the Profession” by Consulting magazine. Sam is recognized in the Client Service category in this prestigious ranking of top consultants under the age of 35.

Since joining West Monroe Partners in 2011, Sam developed specialized skills conducting IT and Operations due diligence and strategic business transformation programs in the M&D and retail industries. Sam is one of only a handful of people in firm’s history to be promoted from consultant to manager in 4 years.

Sam started his career at West Monroe in Chicago as part of the firm’s Operations Excellence practice. In less than a year, he volunteered to assist in starting West Monroe’s Minneapolis office. He has been instrumental in helping the new office grow from 3 to 25 people, and in doing so set the standard for quick, profitable office growth (549%) while maintaining strong culture. Additionally, Sam is an example of firm’s stewardship value serving as the lead trainer of several foundational training courses for campus new hires and consultants.  He is also the national point person for recruiting at his alma mater, Miami University, one of the firm’s top schools for recruiting undergraduate talent.

“I’m extremely honored to continue the tradition of West Monroe employees winning this award for client service,” said Sam. “I view this as a validation of all the time and effort my mentors and managers invested in me early on – this is as much their award as it is mine. I look forward to continuing to grow my consulting career and contributing to West Monroe's overall growth strategy.”

“Sam’s client delivery and relationship skills set him apart from other high performers,” said Tom Ewers, managing director and leader of the firm’s Minneapolis office. “His ability to connect and immerse himself in his client work has been instrumental to building trust that results in long lasting partnerships with clients. He is equally passionate in the areas of recruiting and internal West Monroe cultural development – truly one of our best and brightest at the firm.”

Sam earned a B.S. in Business Economics degree from Miami University.

Consulting magazine profiles Sam and the other 34 “Rising Stars of the Profession” in its March 2016 issue. He will receive his award at an April 14 awards dinner in Chicago.
